The Brand Estonia icon style is based on the Aino Headline typeface — together they form a unified visual language with unconnected strokes and simple geometric shapes that create an airy and open feel.

Icon library

Brand Estonia features two types of icons:

Illustrative icons (64px)

Circular icons are used to illustrate facts, topics, or actions.

Small icons (24px)

Icons without circles are primarily used in digital user interfaces.

Illustrative icons – how and where to use?

Illustrative icons offer a simple and effective way to visualise our fact-based messages or highlight key topics.

Small icons – how and where to use?

Small icons serve a functional purpose and are primarily used in user interfaces to support navigation and enhance usability.

Icons and scaling

Illustrative icons (64px)

Stroke is always 2px. Ultimate minimal size for these icons is 48px

Small icons (24px)

Stroke scales with icon size.

Illustrative icons as illustrations

Icons can also be used as illustrations in digital banner design, print materials, and spatial design.

Icons and Aino Headline belong to the same design family. Make sure the stroke weight of the icons aligns with the letterforms of Aino Headline to ensure visual consistency.

How to create icons?

  • Choose rounded corners and stroke ends
  • Strokes may branch out, but must not connect to other strokes or to themselves
